The White Lion Coaching House is steeped in history with a pub at the location since the fourteenth century. Throughout the Victorian age whilst still operating as a pub and coaching house, the White Lion also served as a post house, an auction house, a labour exchange and even a coroner’s court before being rebuilt in 1904 in the style it’s in today. After being closed for 15 years, Jon Dootson & Paul Astill working with Stockport Council brought the Lion back to life rebuilding the pub from scratch, creating a fantastic traditional pub and the heart of Stockports Great Underbank

At The White Lion we pride ourselves on serving proper pub food, working with local suppliers and quality ingredients. When the Lion’s kitchen is closed, you can order Pizza's from our sister restaurant Alfredo's Social to be delivered directly to your table at the Lion simply by scanning the bar code on your table

SPORTING DEN
The Lion’s Den is the home of sport and one of the best places to watch the match in Stockport. Showing all Sky and TNT matches as well as a host of other sporting events, with hospitality packages available for groups. See our monthly fixtures for the full list of up and coming games. The Den also has pool tables, darts and table football.

LION FUNCTIONS & EVENTS
The White Lion has the best private event spaces in Stockport town centre. We offer boutique, out of the ordinary spaces to host your event, party or corporate function combine this with a choice of dining or buffet menus and a great selection of drinks, we can cater for parties or occasions.
We have two areas available upstairs.
Higher Bank area can accommodate up to 18 guests for dining or 20 for drinks and nibbles.
Over Bank area can accommodate up to 24 guests for dining or 50 for drinks and nibbles.
The whole Lion’s Den can accommodate up to 190 guests for food and nibbles over all 3 areas.
Kids love pizza, and let's face it, mums and dads do too. What better way to celebrate your little ones birthdays than a Make your own Pizza party. For groups of 10 or more kids at only £10 per head take over the 1st floor and have one of our chefs show you how it's done before they all scoff their creations.
